Threat to Ratan Tata- Mumbai Police Trace The Suspect
Insiders from the crime branch reveal an incident that occurred earlier this week in the halls of law enforcement. An unidentified communication reached the Mumbai Police control center. The unidentified informant raised the alarm, claiming a direct threat to Ratan Tata‘s life. The call’s urgency pushed for an increase in Tata’s security measures, emphasizing the dire consequences if ignored. The caller drew a parallel to the untimely death of Cyrus Mistery, who was killed in a car accident earlier this year.
According to the Mumbai police, they have successfully tracked down somebody with MBA degrees who is alleged to be in charge of a threatening phone call made against legendary industrialist and former chairman of TATA Sons Ratan Tata.
Upon reaching the residence of the accused, it was evident that he had absconded from the Bhosari locality in Pune. Subsequent investigations led the authorities to trace his presence in Karnataka by delving deeper into the IP address. Following his apprehension, a perusal of his medical records revealed a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Consequently, the individual was transferred to the custody of Pune police. Family members were strongly advised to restrict his access to a phone.
Interestingly, the Mumbai Police had previously encountered numerous threats targeting prominent business figures. Subsequent inquiries into the identities of these callers unveiled underlying mental health issues, notably schizophrenia.
An MBA degree holder has been identified by the Mumbai Police as the source of a threatening call addressed to Ratan Tata, the well-known industrialist and ex-chairman of Tata Sons. As the investigation progressed, it was revealed that the anonymous caller was suffering from schizophrenia.
According to a Mumbai Police spokesperson, the caller asked the police to strengthen Ratan Tata’s security. The caller also warned that Ratan Tata might face a fate similar to that of Cyrus Mistry, the former chairman of Tata Sons.

Mistry died in a car accident on the 4th of September, 2022. The Mumbai Police immediately initiated a thorough investigation and assigned a team to strengthen Ratan’s personal security. Another team was assigned to collect relevant information about the caller.
With the help of a telecom service provider, the police were able to locate the caller’s location in Karnataka. Further investigation revealed that the caller lived in Pune. When the police reached the caller’s home in Pune, they found that he had not been present for the previous five days. His wife filed a complaint at the police station in Bhosari.
When questioned by the police, the caller’s relatives revealed that he was suffering from schizophrenia. It was also revealed that he had purchased the phone used in the call without informing its owner.
In the call, the caller used the Mumbai Police control room as a means of communication and made explicit threats against Ratan Tata. Due to the revelation of schizophrenia, the police decided not to take legal action. Other findings revealed that the caller had an MBA degree in finance and had studied engineering.
With the help of a telecom company, the police traced the caller to Karnataka. Further investigation revealed that the caller lived in Pune.
